This technical manual is published for the information and guidance of the using arm personnel charged with the operation and maintenance of this materiel.
In addition to a description of the 3/4-ton 4 x 4 truck (Dodge), this manual contains technical information required for the identification, use, and care of the materiel. The manual is divided into three parts. Part One, section I through section VIII, contains vehicle operating instructions. Part Two, section IX through section XL, contains vehicle maintenance instructions for using arm personnel charged with the responsibility of doing maintenance work within their jurisdiction. Part Three, section XLI, contains instructions for the shipment and limited storage of this vehicle.

TM 9-1808B War Department Technical Manual - Ordinance Maintenance Power Train Chassis and Body For Basic Vehicles 3/4 Ton 4X4 and 1 1/2 Ton 6X6 (Dodge) November 17, 1943

The instructions contained in this manual are for the information and guidance of personnel charged with the maintenance and repair of Dodge 1 1/2 ton, 6 x 6 and 3/4 ton, 4 x 4 trucks. Information on the detailed construction of the unit, disassembly and assembly procedure, inspection, maintenance and repair is contained in two Technical Manuals of the 1000 series, of which this is the manual on the power train, chassis and body. These instructions are supplementary to those in the Field and Technical Manuals prepared for the using arms. This manual does not contain information which is intended primarily for the using arms, since such information is available to ordnance maintenance personnel in lOO-series TM’s or FM’s.
This manual (TM 9-1808B) contains a description of, and procedure for removal, disassembly, inspection, and repair of the units of power train, chassis and body.
TM 9-1808A contains information, a description of, and procedure for removal, disassembly, inspection and repair of the engine and electrical units.

TM 9-2320-212-20 - Organizational Maintenance Manual For

Truck, Cargo: 3/4 Ton 4X4, M37 and M37B1

All models are equipped with a liquid cooled, six-cylinder, L head type gasoline engine, located in the front of the vehicle. Power is transmitted through the clutch and the four-speed transmission. A short propeller shaft connects the transmission to the two-range transfer unit which then transmits power by propeller shafts to both axles. Front and rear springs are the semi elliptic type. Hydraulic type shock absorbers are used to control flexing of both front and rear springs. The steering gear is the worm and sector type. A 24-volt or 28-volt electrical system supplies current for starting, ignition, lights, and horn. The electrical system is completely waterproofed. The lighting system includes service headlights, blackout driving light, marker lights, service and blackout tail and stop lights, and instrument panel lights.
